Name That Scat!

Yesterday we discovered these mysterious animal droppings which had been deposited overnight. They’re different in texture and size to anything we’ve seen here before so we’re curious to find out what creature decided to answer the call of nature on our lawn – typically the white-tailed deer droppings we usually see are in pellet form, not in clumps like this. Do we have a black bear in the area perhaps? I’m hoping someone out there can shed some light on what kind of scat this might be – we’d really like to hear a few ideas! Our camera trap has been set to hopefully catch the perpetrator if it returns…
